November 26, 2022Get PARTY ready for the Jubilee Weekend
We are getting VERY excited for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations taking place over the four-day bank holiday.
With many garden parties, street parties, picnics, and nationwide celebrations we have put together a few ideas of how to create some patriotic tablescapes for you. Along with some items you will need to make your Jubilee party a success! Choose from our trestle tables, deck chairs, garden games & BBQs for all the fun in the garden!
Garden Party Dinner Table
We created a platinum, royal blue & red themed table for a garden dinner party. For this we used the silver charger plates, silver crusader cutlery, and the white bone china plates on our white washed wooden trestle table. For a pop of colour and texture we added the blue goblet & water glasses, this instantly adds a luxurious element to the table.
For the centre piece we decided to use glass budvases, with red, white & blue flowers, including HRH favourite flower- Lily of the Valley! To add some height on the table, we placed 3 pillar candles on our glass silver/ grey candle holders.
Linen plays an important role in a tablescape, we have layered the runners in the centre of the table. starting with a blue cotton runner, with a union jack over the top (this was bought from a local garden centre) then over these we placed a white chiffon runner. On each plate is a red napkin, with a blue satin ribbon to tie in all the colours together.
We have created a video to show how we made the table set up, here is the link to our YouTube page:
Afternoon Tea
Afternoon Tea is a very British tradition. So, we thought there couldn’t be a better excuse to get the vintage crockery out, than the Queen’s Jubilee! We have a wide variety of vintage items to hire, in all different colours, patterns & styles.
Controversial question…!
When you’re having an afternoon cream tea and it comes to the scones do you… Put your clotted cream on first then the jam?? Or the jam and then the clotted cream??
Let us know what you do!!!
Table Runner Hack!
To create an instant union jack effect on this table, we created our own runner. This is simple, cost effective and quick way to add an extra touch to your Jubilee tables.
We bought half a metre of fabric from eBay; it was less than £5! We literally just folded the fabric edges over to the size we wanted. Then once folded, you can then iron it to keep extra crisp. That’s it! VERY simple, quick, & no sewing, but doesn’t it look great?!? Best of all, it can be used for all different events in the future & we love reusing items and ensuring we aren’t throwing more rubbish into landfill.
Check out our social media pages, as we post daily on these, with lots of ideas & tips for events.
Our YouTube page has videos of how to create table set ups, and how to use our equipment.
We hope you enjoyed seeing some Jubilee inspiration 😊
Let’s be social!
